April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election - GHPLD Trustee Candidates

Christine Barry
Christine was appointed to the Green Hills Library Board of Trustees in June of 2023 to fill a vacancy. She is running for election in the April 2025 election. She has been a resident of Palos Hills since 2011 and works as an instructional technology coach in a neighboring school district. She enjoys visiting the library and attending library programs with her two young children. You might see them at Pajama Storytime, watching the fish in the big fish tank, checking out some of the items in the Beyond Books collection, or just curled up with a storybook. Christine is proud to serve as a Trustee to help ensure the longevity of the library and to continue to support the library in being a space for everyone in our community. She looks forward to being a voice in the library’s next strategic plan which will provide for new initiatives in our library.  Christine is proud to serve as a Trustee for Green Hills Public Library.

Ian Chafee
Ian has been a resident of Hickory Hills for 26 years.  He was a member of the North Palos School District 117 Board of Education for 10 years, serving as Vice President for 7 of those years.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from North Central College in Naperville, IL (Class of 94) and has worked as an IT Support Specialist for Burbank School District 111 for the past 24 years.  Ian and his wife Debbie have been married for 28 years and have two children ages 22 and 18.  Ian has fond memories of bringing his children to the Library and is enthusiastic about being part of helping the Library stay relevant in the 21st Century.

Kathleen Groark
Kathleen Groark grew up in Hickory Hills and has been a patron of the Green Hills Library her entire life.  An extraordinarily avid reader, she regularly visits the Library to obtain even more books than her overflowing book shelves can hold! Kathleen also enjoys participating in events and programming at the Library.  Kathleen obtained a Political Science degree from Bradley University and her Juris Doctor from DePaul University and works in Telecommunications.  In addition to her love of books, she enjoys theater, music, hiking, and crafting.  Kathleen joined the Library Board in 2021 and loves being involved in helping the community.  She looks forward to continue guiding Green Hills Library to be a successful resource for all residents of the district.

Malgorzata Klich
Malgorzata Klich is running as a first-time candidate for the Green Hills Public Library District Board of Trustees.  She lives in Palos Hills.
