Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for a program?
You will need your Library card number, email, and phone number to register.  Non-GHPLD cardholders can register for programs one week after registration opens.  Click on the event you want to register for and type your information in each field.  All required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.  When your information is entered, click “Register” which will take you to a confirmation page confirming you are registered or on the waitlist.  You can also follow along with this step-by-step guide for registering from start to finish.

How do I cancel my registration?
If you registered using an email address, look for the email confirmation you were sent confirming your registration or place on the waitlist.  There will be a link that will take you to a page to cancel your registration.  You can also contact the Adult or Youth Services Departments to cancel your registration.

Can I get text notifications and reminders?
Text notifications are not supported by LibraryCalendar.  You can, however, opt-in to email notifications for program registration confirmation, reminders, cancellation notices, waitlist notifications, and other program-related messages.

Why am I getting an error message when I try to register?
First, confirm if your Library card number, email address, and age are entered correctly.  You will not be able to register if you are not a GHPLD cardholder until a week after registration starts.  If you have a block on your Library account, this will also prevent you from registering.  If you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to the Adult or Youth Services Departments.

I don’t have a Green Hills Public Library District card.  How do I register?
Non-GHPLD cardholders can register for programs one week after registration begins for residents.  If you don’t have a Library card but live in the District, visit the Patron Services Desk with one document establishing residency and a photo ID.  Library cards and available to all residents and there is no minimum age requirement, but applicants under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian to be present.

Why do I need my Library Card to register?
To give preference to residents, a GHPLD Library card will be required for the first week of program registration.  Additionally, since LibraryCalendar does not have saved logins, patron information will be connected to your Library card number.

How can I check my registration status?
Please refer to the email confirmation you received after registering or being placed on the waitlist.  If you are on the waitlist, you will get an email notification if you are moved onto the main list.  Otherwise, please contact the Adult or Youth Services Departments to inquire about the status of your registration.

When will I be reminded about an upcoming program I am registered for?
You will get a reminder email 1-2 days before the program.  Only email notifications will be sent so please enter an email address if you would like to receive reminders and other program-related communications.

How do I include my friend or family member(s) in my registration?
Click on the “Add Another” button below the text boxes where you enter your first and last name.  Then, you can enter the first and last name of the person you are adding to your registration.  Only one person will be permitted to register at a time for popular, in-demand programs to give everyone a fair chance to register.

I left a voicemail or emailed a Library staff member with a list of programs I want to register for.  What now?
When leaving a message, please include the following information: your first and last name, Library card number (if applicable), name, phone number, how many people you would like registered, and the date, time, and exact name of the programs you are interested in.  Library staff will process emails and voicemails in  the order they are received.  Library staff will call you with any questions or clarifications regarding your message.  You will receive an email confirmation regarding your program registration  once your message is processed by Library staff.

Why do I need an email to register?
Please enter an email address if you would like to receive reminders and other important program-related communications as text notifications are not supported by LibraryCalendar.  If you do not have an email, please enter an up-to-date phone number so Library staff can contact you in the case of any important program-related communications such as cancellations.

Why do you have age requirements for youth programs?  What if my child is mature for their age?
Age ranges are set for youth programs to ensure that activities are appropriately matched to developmental stages and provide a safe, engaging experience for all participants.  While we understand that children develop at different rates, these guidelines help us maintain a balanced and effective environment.

How do I know where the program will take place?
The room information or address of the program is listed on the left side of the LibraryCalendar page next to the date.  More detailed information including a map and contact information for the program can be found on the right side of the page.

Why don’t I see the option to enter my information to register?
The registration text boxes are hidden before registration opens.  The date and time registration will begin is listed in the Library’s newsletter, as well as the program page in LibraryCalendar.  Once registration opens, you will see the option to enter your information.
