2025 Winter Activity Challenge
Monday, January 10–Sunday, February 23

This challenge offers something for everyone!  We invite youth and adults of all ages to earn virtual prize tickets for our grand prizes by completing fun activities, trying out Library resources, leaving book reviews, attending Library programs, and reading a variety of books.  Track your progress online or via a mobile app.  Each week holds new activities to participate in!

Registration starts Monday, January 20 at 9am and will continue throughout the duration of the program.

Adult Challenge Activities

Ready to try something different and engage with new and exciting topics and resources?  This program offers something for everyone with weekly challenges for you to try!  Earn virtual prize tickets by reading a variety of books, watching movies, listening to music, exploring digital resources, and attending Library programs.  Track your progress and badges using the Beanstack app (iOS or Android devices) or website.

Week 1 • January 20-26

• Read or listen to one book
• Leave one book review in our online catalog
• Listen and rate an episode of the Library’s Checked Out podcast
• Check out material from any of the New Releases sections in the Library
• Reader’s Choice: Read a book from the Health or Career collections

Week 2 • January 27-February 2

• Read or listen to one book
• Leave one book review in our online catalog
• Decorate a snowflake
• Check out an item from the Beyond Books Collection
• Reader’s Choice: Read an item from the Adult Winter Activity Challenge Displays

Week 3 • February 3-9

• Read or listen to one book
• Leave one book review in our online catalog
• Visit the Community Resources page of the Library’s website
• Stream music on Hoopla
• Reader’s Choice: Read a book from the Travel or Cooking collections

Week 4 • February 10-16

• Read or listen to one book
• Leave one book review in our online catalog
• Attend an Adult or All Ages Program
• View an online exhibit from the Library’s Digital History Archive
• Reader’s Choice: Read a romance book

Week 5 • February 17-23

• Read or listen to one book
• Leave one book review in our online catalog
• View any lesson from FinancialFit
• Complete a word search
• Reader’s Choice: Read a book in any of the Adult Reading Lists

Youth Challenge Bingo

For the Winter Challenge this year, bingo is the name of the game-o!  You will have the entire five weeks to earn bingo by completing activities and logging your reading.  Each time you mark off a square, you will earn a prize ticket.  When you hit bingo, you will earn an extra 10 tickets.  If you cover all your squares, you will earn a special one-time entry into our Winter Challenge grand prize: a 2025 family plus membership to the Brookfield Zoo!  This challenge is for ages 0-17.  Check out the Beanstack app (iOS or Android devices) or website to begin your bingo challenge!  We also created a brochure (available to download or at the Youth Services Desk) to guide you along the way.
